At MindsDB, we’re constantly evolving to help you build smarter, faster AI-driven applications. This release delivers improved GUI, stronger integrations, improved performance, broader LLM support, and streamlined developer workflows—built to power everything from Knowledge Bases to full-scale production.
MindsDB version 25.6.2.0
Knowledge Bases
We’ve made several improvements to Knowledge Bases to boost performance and flexibility. You can now customize reranking behavior with new query parameters or turn it off entirely, giving you more control over results. Plus, we’ve updated the documentation to make working with Knowledge Bases even easier.
Integrations
Our Data Catalog capabilities have been expanded and improved to make working with agents even more powerful. The new agent system now integrates seamlessly with the Data Catalog, enhancing how data is discovered and managed. Salesforce is now a supported source in the Data Catalog, giving users even more options for connecting and organizing their data. We've also added support for more OpenAI models within agents, and introduced both Agents Data Catalog and Data Catalog V1 to offer a smoother, more feature-rich experience.
SQL Operations
This release brings several backend improvements to enhance accuracy, flexibility, and compatibility across the platform. Metadata queries for Snowflake in the Data Catalog are now more accurate and reliable, while agents can now use default LLM parameters from config files—making them easier to manage and more adaptable. We’ve also expanded SQL support with ALTER VIEW and UPDATE DATABASE commands, and improved JSON type handling for smoother data processing. Plus, working with BigQuery just got easier thanks to updates that improve how cast functions are rendered in SELECT queries.
Bug Fixes and Improvements
This update includes several improvements to boost stability, security, and developer experience. Connecting to MySQL from PyCharm is now smoother, and we’ve added API key support for agents along with better file upload validation to ensure unique and non-empty filenames. Logging on Windows has been improved, and clearer exceptions for LLM functions make debugging easier. We’ve also enhanced monitoring with a new /status endpoint for A2A server health checks, and enabled auto migrations in the cloud for more efficient deployments. Behind the scenes, testing improvements help prevent bugs and keep everything running reliably.
Documentation
Several parts of our documentation have been updated to make it easier for users to get started and find what they need. These updates include clearer guides on creating indexes in Knowledge Bases, working with metadata, fixing provider names, and understanding which models are supported—giving you more accurate and helpful instructions across the board.
Open Source GUI v5.4.11
This release includes several UX and interface improvements designed to make your experience with MindsDB smoother and more intuitive. Chat history is now active and stored in cookies, with each agent’s conversations saved separately for up to 7 days—improving continuity and usability. You can now drag and drop tabs in the SQL editor for easier workflow management, and the CREATE AGENT snippet in the GUI tree menu has been updated for quicker access.
Integration setup is more user-friendly too: if a required integration isn’t installed while filling out the ‘Add Datasource Form’, a helpful pop-up will guide you through the process. We've also added a 404 error page for non-existent routes and improved error handling when the A2A server is offline, offering clearer instructions on what to do next. Additionally, the API key description display now correctly reflects the model in use, and bugs related to deleting agents from the tree menu and GUI display issues have been resolved. Testing coverage has also expanded, especially for the A2A project, to ensure even greater reliability moving forward.
Our team will continuously work on improving MindsDB to provide a better experience for our users. For a more information as to what has changed, check out our full Release Notes for MindsDB v25.6.2.0.
