What is Hacktoberfest?

Hacktoberfest, an annual celebration of open-source software, is a month-long worldwide hackathon event in October that brings together developers worldwide to contribute, collaborate, and make a positive impact on the global tech community.

MindsDB invites you to contribute to our Github Repository for Hacktoberfest where you can earn rewards and enter our prize draw for two amazing Razor Blade 16 Laptops and other exciting rewards.

How to contribute to Hacktoberfest with MindsDB

During the month of Hacktoberfest, MindsDB will post issues on our Github Repository with the label hacktoberfest. You can collect credits by completing these GitHub issues and converting them into prizes. There are various categories you can contribute to, and each category you submit a Pull Request for earns you points.

Here are the categories with the points you can contribute to:

Coding tasks

• Fix a bug (15+ points)

• Build a new data source integration (25+ points)

• Build an app integration (50+ points)

• Build an AI engine integration (70+ points)

• Build an application powered by MindsDB(100+ points)

Non-coding tasks

• Report a bug (5+ points)

• Contribute to docs (5+ points)

• Write a QA/UX test (10+ points)

• Write a tutorial / blog post (15+ points)

• Create a video tutorial (25+ points)

Points may vary by task complexity. Check each issue for specific points. We will also award extra points for exceptional quality of contributions, feature-rich and innovative integrations, etc.

Scholarship Guidelines:

• Eligibility: The scholarship is open to all MindsDB Hacktoberfest contributors.

• Nomination: Contributors can either nominate themselves or be nominated by another community member.

• Contribution Quality: Only contributions made during Hacktoberfest and accepted by the MindsDB repository will be considered.
